Healthy Hair starts with a healthy scalp

Hair Loss

Statistic show that 50% of men and women suffer with a form of thinning or balding.

A healthy scalp provides your hair with the best possible foundation to grow from.

A scalp detox is essentially a deep cleanse of your scalp to free the follicles of any debris, reduce any residue leftover from hair products, pollution, hard water, oils and dead skin cells, and rebalance the pH of the skin to create a better environment for healthy hair.

Just as you want to exfoliate the skin on your face from time to time, you also want to show the same care to the skin on your head (aka your scalp).

“When there is inflammation in the scalp it can cause hair to shed. Perhaps the most common cause of scalp inflammation is seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff) which is typically due to an overgrowth of yeast on the scalp,”
The yeast thrives in an oily environment so keeping your scalp clean and free of product buildup can reduce scalp inflammation, therefore reducing the risk of associated hair shedding.

We recommend that you schedule your scalp analysis with our Hair Loss First Responder, Shameika Phillips.

A scalp analysis allows us to see the state of your scalp up close. We use a magnified scope to assess the condition of your skin, the density of your hair and view your hair follicles. Our findings help us guide you to a solution specific for you. What are we looking at during scalp analysis…

  • Build up on scalp
  • Hair density
  • Any clogged follicles
  • Live follicles with hair present. Or without hair
  • Any permanent hair loss- cicatricial alopecia- scarring no follicles present
  • Any possible hair growth

Scalp Status

Our camera is ready for a close up. We will focus the scope onto your scalp to determine the status of your scalp. We are looking for signs of dryness like scales or flakes. A shiny or muddy appearance indicates excess oil production. Determining the natural state of your scalp is crucial to determining the best treatment protocol and so we recommend not washing your hair at least 24 hours before your appointment.
